"Memory" captures a wilting rose from my own garden. I set it up in my studio, watching the rose fade day by day…I wanted to hold onto that quiet point in time when something is no longer in bloom, but not yet gone.

"Kindle" marks the beginning of the Life & Death series, a moment of stillness lit by a single flame. Painted during a time of personal burnout, it became a quiet act of reconnection. I had stepped away from what I knew, reaching for something unfamiliar, uncertain if the spark that once guided me was still there. Like the fleeting beauty of a fading rose, this piece became a way to slow down and return to what mattered, reminding me that even in uncertain times, light can be rekindled. 

"Remains" is a quiet contemplation of what’s left behind. A crow skull, a weathered book, and dried flowers held in antique glass, familiar objects, stilled by time. There’s a quiet dignity in their presence, a softness in the decay.
Created as the closing piece in the Life & Death collection, Remains carries the weight of reflection. Where Kindle reached for light and Memory paused in stillness, this painting offers acceptance. The beauty that can be found in endings, and how even in loss, something meaningful remains.
